Even as new EV sales have slowed in some markets this year, the charging network continues to expand. Existing EV drivers are using public chargers more, and operators are still investing in faster, more reliable stations.
Industry numbers show the U.S. added roughly 16,700 new DC fast charging ports in 2025 — more than double the number added in 2022. At the current pace, the national total is expected to pass 100,000 ports within the next couple of years. Globally, the charging market continues to grow at a strong rate as more vehicles hit the road.
The focus has shifted toward practical improvements: higher power levels, better reliability, NACS compatibility, and sites that are actually convenient to use.
Recent OnPoint Projects
In late 2025 we opened stations in Sugar Land, Texas, in partnership with the city. The airport site includes eight DC fast chargers, and Imperial Park has Level 2 chargers that support both the public and the city’s microtransit fleet. Both locations include solar canopies, security, WiFi, and digital kiosks.
Mayor Carol McCutcheon noted at the launch that the city couldn’t have offered this on its own.
We’re also continuing the rollout with Jacksons Food Stores across Idaho, California, and Washington. These sites are going in along major corridors and include the usual amenities — food, restrooms, lighting, and shade under the solar canopies. More Jacksons locations are planned through 2026.
What We’re Focused On
Our approach remains consistent: high-power charging, straightforward software through the OnPoint app, and full operational support for site hosts. Drivers can find stations, check availability, reserve a stall, and pay through the app. Hosts get a turnkey setup that generates revenue without requiring them to manage the technical side.
Looking ahead, higher power levels (350–400 kW), broader NACS adoption, and smarter energy management will keep shaping the market. We’re building with those trends in mind so the stations stay useful as more vehicles and fleets come online.
